"The Eternaut" is a series based on the iconic Argentine comic work El Eternauta, created by Héctor Germán Oesterheld. The Netflix series, like the comic its based upon, follows the premise of a end of the world alien invasion in Buenos Aires, Argentina. So is it any good? The answer is mostly, yes. The story line follows that of the original comic but does leave a few too many, loose ends, which can feel a little frustrating. Characterisations are excellent, as is the acting from the cast. There's a very believable, human honesty, to the key survivors. In sharp contrast to, the larger than life effigies, often found in post apocalyptic series. The setting works wonderfully too, with toxic snow created by the invaders, killing those who do not don, appropriate protection. This creates a sense of sudden chaos, confinement and isolation. Its a surreal world, that's familiar but at the same time, menacing and alien. In summary, this is an above average series that is, on balance, a capable adaptation of Oesterheld's work. Very definitely worth a look.

Great show. I love movies and shows about post-apocalyptic, dystopian themes and this one is definitely a very good one. Highly recommended. No DEI and propaganda BS, by the way.
