A young, charismatic priest John, his time missionary in Africa, every day helping Warsaw young people addicted to drugs. Unconventional methods, which are used in pastoral work, raise many doubts about his superiors. Surprisingly, however, his life undergoes a sudden transformation when routine testing finds out that he is HIV positive.
The young merchant Duncan is back from a long expedition that bought back the sacred stone called "Heart of the Mountains" from the infidels. Duncan has missed his loving wife, Heather, for many weeks. During a party held in honor of the expedition's happy return, the village is raided by Skaar's men, who steal the stone and kidnap the beautiful Heather. Duncan wants to set out on his own to recapture Heather, but the village Druid advises him to ask for help from Veronar, Heather's brother, who has been sentenced to exile for unknown reasons. Duncan sets out on the expedition, but not everything goes his way...
Na dobre i na złe is a Polish television medical drama series, broadcast on TVP2 since November 7, 1999. Currently in its 15th season and with over 520 episodes, it is the longest-running primetime drama on Polish TV. The show revolves around the lives of doctors and patients of a hospital in Leśna Góra near Warsaw. Na dobre i na złe has been very popular among the viewers, despite recent criticism on its lack of originality. It won the "Telekamery" award for the best TV series in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Marek Kossot, a special forces soldier, discovers that his niece Monica is a drug addict. Wanting to cut the girl off from the source of the goods, he tries to intimidate her dealer and also her boyfriend, a certain Coke. The drug bosses are alarmed by Mark's action and send their men against him. The brutal intervention proves effective only up to a point. When Monica collapses after an overdose, she organizes a good squad from her former charges and starts a war against the drug mafia....
Twenty years old prostitute and drug addict, Jola, by chance meets Andrzej, a "railway station gay". They try to stay together, in spite of numerous diffculties. They both are carriers of the HIV virus. At the end of their travels they find themselves in the Red Palace - formerly the recreation centre for Party dignitaries, now a home for AIDS sufferers - which is run by father Jan. In the nearby small town aggression begins to grow again the unwanted guests; the house have been promised to the local people for housing purposes... The lives and fates of Jola, Andrzej, and father Jan become increasingly intertwined with one another...
