The 13th Clinical Hospital as we know it does not yet exist, and humanity is just beginning to come into contact with supernatural phenomena. To be ahead, the USSR is beginning to look for doctors who are ready to go beyond conventional medicine. One of these doctors is Yana, a neuropsychiatrist who is going through a family drama.
Half-brothers Yura, Ruslan, and Pyotr form a close family with their mother Flora. In 1995 Russia, greed and violence threaten their bond as they navigate underground clubs, fights, and the collapse of their once-secure world.
A young German, Werner Müller, turns out to be a volunteer in the neurological department of an ordinary St. Petersburg hospital. A foreigner, overwhelmed by the impulse to help all the sick and needy, has a long and eventful day ahead of him. Kirill plunges into the intricacies of the relationships of people, witches and demons, increasingly doubting that he is able to correctly determine who exactly represents good and who is evil here. The diagnosis is imperfect, and the enemy may be someone who initially did not seem to them. To avoid such mistakes, Kirill and his colleagues will have to spend a lot of time studying the circumstances of patients' illnesses.
