Pianist-adventurer Misha gets a job with the old owner of a mysterious house-quest. But he does not know that the question "WHERE IS THE MONEY?" interested not only in him. Everyone in this house is looking for money.
How does war resonate in a peaceful life? How does it melt in the mind of a creative person? In the documentary film "Wind from East" the authors are looking for answers to these questions. In the picture, the two worlds are peace and war, but peace is a theater where preparatory rehearsal work takes place, and war is also a theater, but at war. There is another world that stands alone - it is a play played by actors, rethinking their own experience of involvement in the war and the texts of Alexander Dovzhenko and contemporary Ukrainian authors. These worlds combine interviews with people, with those who joined the actors' trips to the east, with the military, who received the actors and became spectators directly on the front line.
It is evening, children are gathered around the fire, and the old miller begins to tell them a fairy tale. In his tale, Mykola, a bursak, goes to Mr. Adam to teach his daughter Khrystyna to read and write. But on the way to the manor, Mykola learns that the village has been invaded by evil spirits, werewolves, and air-breathers, and that Mr. Adam himself is in captivity. Mykola and Khrystyna decide to free the prisoners and the land from evil spirits, but they will have to go through many trials.
The plot revolves around the controversial relationship between maid Stefania Chornenko and blueblood Adelia Anger against the backdrop of the provincial Austro-Hungary in 1900. Both Stefania’s parents and Adelia’s mother died during the fire. Adelia’s father adopted neighbors’ orphan. Girls grew up together to become as close as sisters, though Stefania served as the maid. This attachment develops into love-trap: on one hand full of mutual manipulation and jealousy, but equally based on сare and devotion. The illusion of balance is broken when Adelia marries sculptor Petro. Everything gets even more complicated when Joseph, the old love interest of Stefa, returns to town as the priest and married man. Illusions are destined to evaporate and reality comes into focus.
