The events of the work take place in a historical social drama framework in the thirties of the last century, presenting the issue of a conflict between two families living in the Gafsa Valley in southern Tunisia and disputing over an inheritance.
Helmi goes into a cave in the woods and gets transported back to 1991 Tunisia. He tries to communicate his situation to his parents and grandparents and make sense of his new life.
Habib takes his family on a trip across Tunisia, to Zarzis, Habib's native region, to spend the summer vacation together. He tries to beautify the image of his homeland and embellish the adventures but as the journey progresses by car they will be confronted with increasingly improbable situations.
