On the verge of despair at his overly controlled life, a repressed teenage geek attends a student conference where he picks up the thoughts of a rebellious, adolescent schizophrenic and realises that he is telepathic; but when he is kidnapped by a scientist engaged in unethical experiments, he must grow up, take the lead and enlist the help of this unlikely friend before he and other young telepaths are killed.
Samuel Peters (Edward Furlong), once an ordinary man, dabbles in the laws of voodoo to bring his wife back from the grave. He soon encounters the God of malevolence ‘Kalfu’ (Corey Feldman), and makes a pact with him to destroy the underworld and bring chaos to earth. In return, he will become ‘The Zombie King’ and walk the earth for eternity with his late wife. But, as the ever growing horde of zombies begins to completely wipe out a countryside town, the Government set-up a perimeter around the town and employ a shoot-on-sight policy. Trapped within the town, the locals, an unlikely bunch of misfits, must fight for their lives and unite in order to survive. Can our heroes unravel the clues in time and survive or will The Zombie King and his horde of zombies rise on the night of the dark moon?
The series followed Henrietta "Hettie" Hubble, (Mildred's younger cousin), through her years at Cackles Academy. Mildred is seen in the first episode accompanying her cousin to Cackles, before magically returning home. Hettie quickly becomes friends with Mona Hallow (Ethel's younger sister) and Crescentmoon "Cressie" Winterchild. The new enemy of Cackles is filled by Belladonna Bindweed and the sidekick is filled by Cynthia Horrocks. Miss Hardbroom and Miss Cackle return, and are joined by new members of staff Caspian Bloom, Miss Swoop and Miss Widget/Miss Nightingale.
