The Matildas made history by winning the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in 2010, becoming the first Australian senior national team to win an Asian Football Confederation title. The landmark victory in Chengdu, China, in front of just 1,200 fans at Chengdu Sports Centre, was a watershed moment for women’s football in Australia. With an average age of 22, many of the team were participating in their first international tournament. Underdogs at the time, this team would go on to cultivate many of the household names fans celebrate today.
In a collaboration between the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), KEEPUP Studios and JAM TV, A-Leagues supporters will be granted unprecedented access that will push the sporting boundaries through a ground-breaking new behind-the-scenes documentary series – A-Leagues All Access. Each episode will feature a different character in the A-Leagues – across the Isuzu UTE A-League and Liberty A-League – from players to coaches and fans, going beyond match days with unlimited access to their football, their lives and their passions.
