Two men wander a Kazakh forest in search of mushrooms, whilst reflecting on their philosophies and memories.
The film takes place at the recently opened Nartas mine, part of a large mining complex. Due to many reasons, the mine is undersupplied in ore. Nariman Danaev, the young head of the mine, offers a way out of this situation. He meets with both support and resistance. Thus, behind the production problems there is a struggle of characters, views, and different attitudes. The conflict is moving into the moral sphere. A difficult situation develops in the personal life of the main character.
The story of a young man named Yertaya, who returned to his native village after many years of studying at a university in the capital. During this time, his younger sister Alima grew up and fell in love with a tractor driver. And now she has to prove to Yertai that she is already an adult and independent person.
