Gvido starts a new job - it's at a small pizzeria chain called "Slice of Paradise" in Riga's suburbs. He meets his new colleagues which consist of a varied bunch of characters, and together they will all need to figure out the day-to-day in this stressful environment.
Ivars, although not sporty himself and often excluded at school, has created his own sports club with the aim of bringing together only beautiful, sporty, rich and famous people. However, his dream of becoming the most elite sports club in Riga is in danger of being dashed when his wife announces their divorce and the sports club goes into debt. Ivars' personal and material problems also affect all the Temple's employees.
Alicija (33), a Polish-born liberal free-thinker, joins the Awakening movement in occupied Latvia. Her newlywed husband Ilgvars (53), a man with the experience of another generation, calls her to be more careful and cautious. With the support of a close friend, the poet Normunds (40), Alicija soon comes to the forefront of the Singing Revolution. However, alongside the first success, difficulties appear – Alicija receives an anonymous letter accusing Ilgvars of being a former KGB informant. His ambiguous answer leads to her wanting to find out the truth. Realizing that her husband’s actions in the KGB have affected the fate of her close friend, Alicija faces an unenviable choice. Torn by internal contradictions, she continues her work to restore the country’s independence, unable to find courage to resolve the situation. Alicija buries herself in her work and the emotional connection with her husband gradually fades away.

A drama about the national resistance movement in Latvia after the Soviet occupation. Events take place in 1949 when the British intelligence service MI6 tries to find out about the situation in the Baltic States occupied by the Soviet Union. Wittold (Jekabs Reinis), together with other Latvians, works hard in his daily work, and Velta (Agnese Cirule) is a nurse. They dream of going to the United States, saving money, planning a wedding and arranging the necessary documents because the US carefully selects emigrants. But Wittold decides to take part in the Mission, and the hope of changing history changes his life.

Latvian Television's multi-series film "The Torn Mug" is based on the novels "The Torn Mug" and "Wolf's Tooth" by Alfreds Dziļums. Only a few of the main characters and the twists and turns of their relationships are taken from the novel "The Broken Pitcher", while the majority of the film consists of original content, in which the plot is interspersed with various events. They will draw the viewer into the feelings and values of the inner world of a Latvian.
