In 1975, 10-year-old Amar lives in a village in northern Morocco with his violent uncle, waiting for the unlikely return of his mother, who has left for Belgium. He finds a friend in Carmen, his neighbor, who is a Spanish exile and who works as an usher at the village cinema. Carmen helps him discover a world previously unknown to him.
While taking part in the Rif war in Morocco, José, a military retiree from the Spanish Air Force, witnessed the bombing and dropping of toxic mustard gas on civilian populations. 60 years later, he decides to return to the scene of the "crime", and discovers a large part of the population infected with cancer and a desolate landscape. Will his encounter with Timouch prompt him to reveal the truth about what really happened in this region of Morocco?
