The main event features Fedor Emelianenko, former Pride Heavyweight Champion, facing K-1’s Hong-Man Choi, billed as “Fedor Returns” on HDNet and SKY Perfect. Emelianenko enters after a submission win over Mark Hunt at Pride Shockwave 2006, while Choi comes off a K-1 Grand Prix loss. Key undercard bouts include Shinya Aoki vs. Bu-Kyung Jung, with Aoki fresh off a TKO over Akira Kikuchi, and Kazuo Misaki vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama, pitting Pride and Hero’s Grand Prix champions. It’s a farewell to Pride fans post-UFC acquisition, inspiring the creation of DREAM.
Pride 34: Kamikaze was a mixed martial arts event held by Pride Fighting Championships on April 8, 2007 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. This was the last Pride show promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment before the sale of the company (see Pride Worldwide). Although Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio Rua were negotiating with Pride to compete, Silva did not participate because of a medical suspension received from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The commission had stated that if a Japanese doctor cleared Silva for competition, they would consider lifting the suspension three days early, but this did not come to fruition. Pride Shockwave 2005 was a mixed martial arts event held by the Pride Fighting Championships at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on December 31, 2005. In Japan, the event was called "Otoko Matsuri 2005 – Itadaki" (Itadaki means victory) The event concluded the Pride Lightweight (73 kg, 161 lb) and Welterweight (83 kg, 183 lb) tournaments of 2005. Takanori Gomi won the Lightweight tournament by knocking out Hayato Sakurai. Dan Henderson won the Welterweight tournament by defeating Murilo Bustamante via split decision. Wanderlei Silva retained his Middleweight Champion title by defeating Ricardo Arona via split decision.

The event took place at the Saitama Super Arena on December 31st, 2004. This event held the final bout of the 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix because it had ended in a no contest at the Final Conflict event back in August.
