On the weekend of 17th March 2023, thousands of Marillion fans travelled from over 45 different countries around the world for the 21st Anniversary of the Marillion Weekends and the first Port Zelande Weekend for four years. The centrepiece of the Weekend was the definitive live performance of the critically acclaimed album “An Hour Before It’s Dark”. Featuring special guests, incredible visuals and a captivating light show, this unique event was filmed in a newly reconfigured, custom built venue. Recorded and mixed by Michael Hunter, Directed and Edited by Tim Sidwell.

In 2022, Marillion reflects on the making of their fifth album, Holidays in Eden.
On September 16, the brand-new deluxe editions of Holidays In Eden will be released on 3CD/Blu-ray book and a 4LP set. Both sets include a brand-new 2022 remixed stereo version of the album by Stephen Taylor and a full live show from Hammersmith, London, from 1991. The concert includes a number of tracks from Holidays In Eden, alongside favorites from previous albums such as “Berlin,” “Incommunicado,” and much more. The Blu-ray deluxe edition features a brand-new 2022 stereo remix in 96/24 Stereo LPCM, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 96/24 5.1 LPCM. As well as B-Sides & bonus tracks, such as “The Moles Club” demos recorded after the band’s long writing process for the album. It also includes tons of video content, including a brand-new documentary of the band telling the album’s story, HD upgraded promo videos and a live concert from Rockpalast In Concert on German TV.

This is a live Blu Ray disc from 2019 Marillion Weekend from Port Zelande and a Show from Leicester. We are delighted, and somewhat relieved, to present a record of the last Marillion Weekend, from what has become the distant past! Which is half the reason for calling the two-film set ‘Distant Lights’ - the other half, of course, being a nod to a lyric from the Happiness Is The Road album, which was the centrepiece of the 2019 Sunday night show. Just to quash any speculation, the delay in releasing these films was not so much caused by any turn of events, as by everyone having been consumed by the creation of An Hour Before It’s Dark over the last couple of years.

At the end of 2019 the ensemble, eleven musicians in total including the string quartet In Praise of Folly, flautist Emma Halnan and French Horn player Sam Morris, took the music on the road on a tour that would play to sold out venues across Europe, concluding with another two amazing nights at the Royal Albert Hall. With Friends at St David's joins the tour in Cardiff at a venue the band had last played some twenty years earlier. Over two hours of beautifully crafted music and powerful performance, the film presents the full set, including songs from across the last thirty years of the band's repertoire.
