Reda, a taxi driver, drives the wealthy widow Imane who has just returned from abroad. She lets him drive her to run errands, and he helps her break her sweetheart, the engineer Hassan, out from a mental hospital.
The poor young man, Sitta, is forced to do simple jobs as a magician and a robabki seller, but he fails at all of them. After being fired from his last job with the wealthy smuggler, Mamdouh, Sitta buys a piece of furniture in which Mamdouh had carefully hidden three million dollars, because it belonged to one of the big currency traders and his workers sold it while he was in prison without knowing its value. He decides to direct the money to charity and marry his beloved.
Adel and Salwa love each other and decide to marry, but Adel doesn't have enough money and is reluctant to take this step. Salwa encourages him and reassures her that she will be by his side. They get married but they can't afford to buy an apartment.
Kawthar is a drug dealer who throws the accusations on her maid who gets sentenced to life imprisonment. Kawthar adopts the maid's daughter and helps the rest of the children. The daughter grows up and works as a police officer and meets a thief that she believes she can turn into a good citizen.

His neighbor, Al-Azhar, advises him to marry her to save her from her fate. But his mother tries hard to prevent their marriage.
(Mustafa) tries to get close to (Nadia), despite the student (Samah)'s attachment to him. (Samah) claims that he assaulted her, and attempts are made to pressure (Mustafa) to marry her. (Karima), who controls the interests of the people, admires (Mustafa) and appoints him as an accountant. For her actions, she courts him and tries to separate him from (Nadia). (Mustafa) discovers the violations committed by (Karima) and seeks to report these violations to the police.
Khasosi is a simple man working at his cousin's company, who doesn't feel his love. When he discovers embezzlement by the assistant manager, the contractor Mossaad, he spreads news that he killed himself and returns as a terrifying character called Al-khut to reveal Mossaad's schemes.
In the 1940s, the policeman Imam moves to Cairo to work in an area devoted to prostitution. There he falls in love with the prostitute Nusse who works with the bully Jalal without knowing that she is practicing this profession. He is defended by an imam who beats an English soldier who tries to intercept her and assault her. He is tried and dismissed from service, then returns to live in the neighborhood and look for work, and becomes a pimp, a quarrel between him and Jalal al-Fatwa. Each trying to prove his strength and impose his power.
Morsi is trying to do the impossible in order to find a way to reach Adel, who disappeared 15 years ago, in order to get out of his debts.
After failing to find stable work in Cairo, Hassanein joins a group of beggars and unwittingly becomes involved with a corrupt businessman who suspects him of being a police informant.
In the 1920s, Azouz is a failed actor and his fiancée Folla works as a maid in the house of the chief of police in Alexandria, who's responsible for arresting serial killers Raya and Sakina. When all plans to arrest them by officer Fathi fail, Azzouz and Folla disguise themselves as Raya and Sakina.
