A complete and never-before-seen portrait of the life of a young girl from Pula (Istria) who quickly became one of the most famous and beloved actresses of Italian and international cinema, told through the words of her unpublished letters and diaries, photographs, homemade films in 8 mm, and new interviews with her relatives, friends, and collaborators.
In the summer of 1959, as a magazine correspondent, writer and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-75) traveled along the Italian coast. In 1963, he documented the sexual behavior of the Italians. In the winter of 1970-71, he witnessed the hardships of the most impoverished Italian population suffering from the boot of state power. After these three trips, he came to the conclusion that Italian society had changed drastically for the worse over the years.
Documentary about the anthology film Love and Anger (1969) with interviews with Carlo Lizzani (director of the segment "L'indifferenza"), Marco Bellocchio (director of the segment "Discutiamo, discussamo"), Maurizio Ponzi (assistant director of the segment " La sequenza del fiore di carta," by Pier Paolo Pasolini), and Roberto Perpignani (editor of the segment "Agonia," by Bernardo Bertolucci).
