Lucien Knops (Nand Buyl) is a grumpy old man. When his wife passes away, he moves in with his daughter Gerda. It doesn't take long before tensions rise and Lucien moves back into his old house, claiming that his new lover will move in with him. Gerda is worried that she will miss out on her father's inheritance; even more so when an interesting new woman moves in next door to Lucien.
In rural Westphalia, Franz Berger struggles to keep his inn open. On this day, a bluff, overbearing bully, Hermann Walzer, has booked the dining room for a wedding banquet for his son Mark. Witse is a Dutch language crime drama produced by Belgian broadcaster VRT and broadcast on their één channel. It is also shown on BVN. First broadcast in 2004, as of 2010 the programme comprises eight series with a ninth and final series planned for 2012. It stars Hubert Damen as the eponymous Witse, a driven inspector in the Belgian federal police based in Halle. It is one of the most popular Flemish television programmes with some 1.6 million viewers. There are also Witse books. The first three were based on the last two episodes of each season, but since 2010 every six months a brand new story is published, written and invented by established Belgian writers, as Bob Van Laerhoven and Bart Van Lierde. The music for Witse is composed by Steve Willaert.

Is a convent anyplace for a boy? Gabriël is a lad of about eight, probably a foundling, who lives in a convent, the only child among about 20 nuns. Except for Sylvia, a young nun, Gabriël doesn't get on well with others. He thinks of himself as an angel, impatient to grow wings and to fly, impatient with earth's rules. He's been collecting feathers from the many geese on the convent grounds. What happens next seems to horrify everyone except Sylvia, who may be in on Gabriël's secret.
Huoon and Morholt return home to Ardoewaan from the crusades. They learn that their father has died and has left the castle to Huoon (being the elder). Huoon nevertheless decides to share everything with his brother. A conflict between Morholt and a neighboring Lord leads to a duel where Huoon takes his brother's place and gets killed. In order to secure the lands for his own son Gawain Morholt lets Huoon's son Rohalt disappear in the mountains where he's found by a family of shepherds. 20 years later Rohalt has grown and decides to become a knight. He will find himself confronting Morholt for his rightful legacy. Meanwhile the jester Fulco has his suspicions about the death of Huoon and seeks out the truth.
