A group of middle school kids stumble upon a chest full of incredible toys from the future. The discovery takes them on an adventure using their newfound toys to save their neighborhood and ultimately the world from a maniacal corporate madman. In the process, these "loser" kids learn they have the qualities they thought they were lacking all along.

Although pressured to save the bed and breakfast, Tom’s history of heart break makes it difficult to stand up for such a symbol of love. Sharing in his skepticism of love is Nancy, a new police officer in town. With Nancy’s encouragement, Tom just might make the effort to keep the landmark afloat after all.

Follows the story of the challenging relationship between Billie and her younger schizophrenic sister, Elizabeth Baby. At first, Baby and the family work to adjust to their new living arrangement.
