Set in Santiago de Chile in the 50's and divided into three stories. The first story is about a young woman who has just discovered that she's pregnant. The father refuses to cooperate. The second story is set in Arica, and concerns smuggling in northern Chile. The third and final story, "Ojos de gato", concerns a cashier that is bewitched by a mysterious "Lady in Black".
The characters are refugees from the war who have arrived in America. Ricardo Moller is a scientist who the war has left sexually mutilated, while Arturo Gonzálvez is a professor who believes that another passenger is insane, unaware that she is his wife accompanied by their children.
Si mis campos hablaran is a 1947 Chilean film directed by José Bohr. It was entered into the 1954 Cannes Film Festival.
A young man loses all his money by gambling and decides to commit suicide, but is interrupted by a mysterious man who invites him to join a suicide club, where, through letters, it is drawn who is going to die.
