But at the first rehearsal with the orchestra Nadya fails, after which she leaves for the construction of a hydroelectric power plant. There, in a working club, success, inspiration, hope and unrequited love come to her.
A diamond smuggling operation goes wrong when an ordinary Soviet citizen becomes unwittingly involved, and the criminals are forced to court him to retrieve their diamonds.
