Mitya, after eight years of study at the St. Petersburg Medical University, returns to his native village of Ozernoe, somewhere in the vast south of Russia. His family, friends and the whole village in general are waiting for him with pride and impatience - after all, earmarked funds were spent on his studies, and a young doctor is also very much needed in the local hospital. But everyone is surprised to learn that Mitya is not a surgeon, not a dentist, and not even a urologist, but a psychologist-sexologist.
