Through Mark’s terrific understanding of songwriting, performance and music history, the viewer is transported on a journey of musical discovery. Rock Star is a television series produced by Mark Burnett, David Geffen, Lisa Hennessy, and Al Berman in which aspiring singers from around the world competed to become the lead singer of a featured group.[1] It debuted on CBS on July 11, 2005, to mediocre ratings. The show was hosted by television personality and commercial spokeswoman Brooke Burke and Jane's Addiction lead guitarist Dave Navarro. In season one Australian rock band INXS chose J.D. Fortune as their new lead singer. For season two, the newly formed supergroup hard rock band, Rock Star Supernova chose Lukas Rossi as the lead singer.
Released in 2004, I'm Only Looking is a two-disc compilation DVD by INXS. The set comprises Disc One which contains a number of official videos with commentaries for their most famous hits, and Disc Two which features a number of remastered live and studio rarities.
"Welcome to Wherever You Are" is an 18-minute documentary that follows INXS behind the scenes at a charity concert in 1992. In addition to providing an interesting look at the lead-up to a concert, this program includes performances of the songs "Heaven Sent" and "Taste It."
The superb INXS concert was filmed at the Loreley Festival on the banks of the Rhine for the famous German TV series Rockpalast on June 21st 1997, just a few short months before the tragic early death of the charismatic lead singer Michael Hutchence on November 22nd. INXS are in top form playing a set that draws tracks from across their career and includes many of their greatest hits and best loved tracks. As a bonus there are also six tracks from the first INXS performance for Rockpalast at the Markethalle Hamburg on May 8th 1984, which offers a rare glimpse of the band in their earlier days as they were just starting to break through in Europe.
The Greatest Hits is a greatest hits compilation released by Australian rock band INXS in 1994. The compilation was a chart success in Australia, peaking at number 2 and in the UK, where it reached number 3. It only managed to reach number 112 on the US Billboard 200; however, it was eventually certified Platinum.
