Biography

Niamh McGrady is a Northern Irish stage, screen and television actress. She is best known for her parts as Mary-Claire Carter in the long-running BBC medical drama Holby City, and PC Danielle Ferrington in the psychological thriller The Fall. From 2021, she has played Nicole Devine in the crime serial drama Hope Street for BBC Northern Ireland.

Ten years later, she was dead from alcoholism-related heart disease. The recreation of late-Sixties Belfast was accurate and, thank goodness, intelligently subdued: no comedy Ulster accents and no point-scoring subplot about the Troubles.
