The story of activity of partisan detachment on the territory of occupied Belarus during WW2. They live on airfield which surrounded by swamp and take planes with ammo from behind the front. But Nazi want to destroy the airfield.
The artist Anatoly Buslov has been living in Minsk for many years, but he still cannot escape the oppressive memories of the Chernobyl tragedy. His whole family, living then in a small village in the Gomel region, suffered greatly from radiation. Buslov goes to the place where he grew up, and with surprise and joy finds that the inhabitants of his native village have not fallen in spirit. This gives the artist strength, and he decides to paint the local church.

The film depicts the life and reign of Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich of Kiev, known in legends as Vladimir the Red Sun. The story begins in 972 AD, after the death of his father, Grand Prince Svyatoslav, which ignites a power struggle among Vladimir and his brothers. The film emphasizes that Russian princes only succeeded when they maintained good relations with the Bulgars and other steppe nations. It also depicts Vladimir's reflection on his rise to power upon receiving the book "The Ladder" in 1005, ten years after his conversion to Christianity.
