A detective investigates a murder and gets caught up in spy shenanigans.
The action takes place on the coast of the eastern Pyrenees near the Spanish border. Mario Balducci escaped from prison, after settling his account with his former accomplice who had given him away, he joins his ex-mistress, Mado, a bellowing singer who he asks to help him get to Spain.
Physicist Theodore Heldt, his young daughter Fern and his assistant Larry Gordon, on board a ship for a scientific expedition, are shipwrecked in the Pacific Ocean after a terrible storm. They find themselves safe and sound on an exotic desert island paradise. Several years pass, the professor dies and Fern and Larry, long in love and alone in the world, are united. One day, the ship they'd been waiting for appears, but the sailors are three smugglers who, instead of representing salvation, pose a threat to the young couple.
In the elegant nightclub of Corsican Luciano, known as Lucky, "Les Naturistes", big sums are gambled at the Longchamp races. Lucky not only "welcomes" the new dancers, he also collects the stakes entrusted to him and personally plays the horses recommended to him by Max, a former convict. But Bramati, Lucky's ex-partner, doesn't forgive Max for double-crossing him and has him shot.

Tracking her down in La Baule at a beauty contest, Willis Jr. falls in love with Liliane, known as Régina Rex, and sets out to clear her name, convinced as he is of her innocence. After several comic twists and turns (including the temporary loss of the necklace), we learn that the starlet was hired by Mrs. Onnis to have her husband caught in the act of infidelity, a contract between the spouses stipulating that the unfaithful member of the household would pay 100 million francs to the other. Willis's dedication enables Annibal to catch his wife in the act. The Onnis are happily reunited, and Liliane and Willis Jr. look to the future with a smile.
The beautiful Beatrice Cenci, daughter of the noble Francesco, falls in love with Olimpio.
