Québexit is a multi-lingual (English, French, Cree) ensemble political comedy: when a transnational pipeline leads to a successful third Québec sovereignty referendum, a small road at the Québec-New Brunswick border becomes a lighting rod of conflict between the new Québec military, the Canadian Armed Forces and two indigenous women who traverse the border frequently.
Dr. Bashir Hamed, a Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine, makes the difficult decision to flee his country and build a new life in Canada with his younger sister Amira. Bash works to navigate a new environment after earning a coveted residency in the Emergency Department of one of the best hospitals in Toronto, York Memorial.
At the hospital, three brothers meet at the bedside of their mother in a coma. To pass the time, they discuss the merits and pleasures of marital fidelity and infidelity. The conversations of the two youngest advance as the days go by in increasingly juicy details and fantasies, which will push them to act against the morals and more solid values of the eldest.
