Lavinia and Matteo are a close-knit couple whose equilibrium is shattered when a tragedy befalls them: their daughter Camilla, only eighteen years old, is found lifeless in a cornfield outside the city. The arrest of Kevin, a boy of African origin with a few priors, triggers several questions. While Matteo is convinced, Lavinia seems to believe there is another truth.
Elena, a Sicilian mother of three, is murdered by her husband. Her cousin, Roberto decides to take the three orphans into custody. Together with his wife, Anna, he takes charge of the maintenance of the three nephews, who join the other two children of the couple. The adaptation of the three children to the new reality is complex and conflicting. The backlash on the family budget is heavy. Roberto and his wife make do to ensure that the children are supported, trying not to let them know how their mother died.
Nora Telese is a psychiatrist who recently moved to San Benedetto del Tronto with her teenage daughter Camilla. Their life seems to flow serenely and Camilla meets Sonia, whith whom a unique and special friendship developes. One Saturday evening in May, the two girls go to a party and don’t return home. Their phones are unreachable and both girls seem to have disappeared into thin air. The prosecutor opens a file; Vice Quaestor Giovanni Nemi is in charge of the investigation; the case becomes increasingly complicated.
