For single mother Tinka, a village policewoman, a sense of responsibility is paramount - but not for her father Hartmut “Bonanza” Zeller. When the once-successful rock musician drops in on her after years of radio silence, she wants to get rid of him right away.
Henni enthusiastically gets off the Munich-Bari intercity bus in sunny Apulia. Her new assignment takes the globetrotting nanny to a German expat family with two teenage children. Rosa Westphal, who runs a picturesque olive farm with her husband Benno, has high hopes for the governess with the impressive credentials. However, it seems strange to Henni that the self-confident straight-A student Luisa and the musically gifted but sensitive Julian need supervision at all - especially as the family's finances are clearly in a bad way. Henni also wonders about a secret visit to the doctor by her client, which she happens to observe.
Henni can hardly believe it: Canada really is as beautiful as the Munich native dreamed it would be! Her ticket to the world is once again a fraudulent assignment as a premium nanny. German-born entrepreneur Christopher has hired her to look after his daughter Bristol so that he can prepare for his second wedding in peace. Soon after her arrival, Henni realizes that the 13-year-old not only has a hard time with her future stepmother Pia, but that she also attracts trouble.
Gisela and Werner Bauer are shocked: shortly before the wedding to their only son Sebastian, dream daughter-in-law Jana has pulled the ripcord. She desperately lacks passion in her long-term relationship with the down-to-earth but somewhat comfortable Sebastian, which has become routine. While he reacts helplessly, his parents, who know that their ancestor and the long-established Bavarian carpentry business are in the best of hands with Jana, decide to take the plunge.
The sleepy village of Gendering is basically just a tiny spot on the map, but a very beautiful one. The village is so attractively located between the Alps and Munich that the young innkeeper Paula receives an offer to sell the village to an investor for 18 million euros: Gendering is to become a luxury vacation park.
Henriette's second assignment as a premium nanny also takes her to an exotic location. The young-at-heart woman in her mid-50s travels to South Africa to look after two bored children on a farm in the wilderness. Anton and Linus are staying with their grandfather Konrad Eckstein for four weeks. Eckstein doesn't really have much interest in his grandchildren, preferring to spend his time with his animals. Nanny Henriette comes at just the right time - even if he can't warm to the older lady either. But Henriette refuses to accept Eckstein's stoic nature. She investigates why the grandfather has no desire to spend time with his grandchildren and also wonders why Johanna Eckstein's daughter left the farm a long time ago. Who knows, maybe Henriette can reunite the family.
Working life was often no walk in the park for the resolute Henriette. Without any training and with many odd jobs, the now 58-year-old has struggled through life. And so Henni decides to take the bull by the horns once again and take her fate into her own hands. She reinvents herself as a "premium nanny" who only works for the best families in the world and dreams of carefree hours on the beach of a dream island. Of course, there is always a huge gap between her dreams and reality, and so her first job on the island of Mauritius becomes a real challenge.
